The SVC system is available to compensate electrical disturbances generated by large-scale consumers with fluctuating loads like electrical arc furnaces and rolling mills.
The Converteam solution, based on Thyristor Controlled Reactors ( TCR ) linked to filters, has been designed for the range 20 to 220 MVAR.
With only one double stack of thyristors, the latest TCR valves are more compact, needing fewer components, and use new technology for the water cooling. The control system is based on our latest PEC (Power Electronic Controller) as used for large mill drives. The application software is developed with modern, easy to use programming tools.
