Land-Based Test Facilities

In addition, Converteam has the capability of designing, building and operating land-based test facilities to demonstrate advanced technologies on land prior to installation on a vessel. Two such facilities are:

• the Electric Ship Technology Demonstrator which investigated performance characteristics of advanced systems, and
• the Unmaned Air Vehicle (UAV) Launch technology demonstrator using linear induction motor technology to prove the capability to launch UAV’s in a controlled manner.

We are also contributing to the testing of the DDG 1000 propulsion system at the USN's Land-Based Test Site in Philadelphia, USA.
