Converteam Wuhan Automation Co, Ltd. (Conwac) is a Joint Venture between Converteam and Wisco (Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation, one of the major steel players in China), which was set up in 2000. This entity is mainly involved in engineering and maintenance.
This entity is primarily involved in the Metals business. Its main customer is Wisco, who was successfully served on many projects by Conwac since year 2000.
From its traditional focus on processing lines, Conwac has gradually and successfully extended its scope of supply and know-how to rolling mills. Conwac was involved in the implementation of the new hot strip mill of Wisco and in the design of the whole electrical & automation system for a new 2-stand reversing mill with sophisticated model for the pass scheduling in E-Gang, a subsidiary of Wisco.
