Converteam recently signed with Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO), one of China’s largest iron and steel producers, a contract for six green-field processing lines for their silicon steel Qingshan plant aiming to produce the first coil by the end of October 2012.
Power Conversion specialist Converteam was recently chosen by ArcelorMittal to revamp the electrical and automation systems of its Cold Rolling Mill located in Bremen, Germany. This new contract consolidates the long-term relationships existing for many decades between Converteam and the world's leading steel company.
Converteam has been awarded the revamping of the tandem mill of C.D. Wälzholz GmbH & Co. KG at its "Nord" plant in Hagen, Germany. The new drives will double the drive performance and significantly boost production. International steelmaker C. D. Wälzholz is headquartered in Germany and is one of the market leaders for cold-rolled and heat-treated steel strips and sections.
At the Düsseldorf METEC 2011 Trade Fair, Converteam will be presenting a wide range of technical solutions specially designed to optimize metalworking processes (28 June - 2 July 2011, Hall 4, Stand E 30). Converteam offers its customers tailored high-tech complete solutions all under one roof, thereby strengthening its customers' competitive edge. In one of the cold rolling mills recently modernized by Converteam in Germany, at ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe a tin plate with a thickness of just 90 µm can now be produced in the tightest of tolerances, in stable automatic mode.
