Converteam awarded a contract for shearing line #2 of Usiminas
Converteam Brazil has just signed a contract for the supply of electric, automation and instrumentation systems of shearing line #2 of the plate rolling mill of Usiminas in Ipatinga. The project is estimated to be over 63 million Reais (€24 million) and is expected to take a year and a half.

Converteam will be presenting papers at AIST seminar in February
Between 18-22nd February 2007 in Orlando, Florida, the AIST (Association for Iron & Steel Technology) will be holding its "Cold Rolling Fundamentals - A Practical Training Seminar." Converteam will be presenting two papers on 20th February: "An Introduction to Automatic Gauge Control" and "Flatness Measurement and Control"

Converteam in Germany has been awarded an order worth €11 million from ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein for the modernization of tinning line 11 in Andernach. The order is for the design, delivery, erection and commissioning of the complete electrical system including all necessary mechanical parts. The electrical scope covers all AC drive systems, automation and process automation. The new installation will be integrated bu the end of 2007. Production re-start is scheduled for January 2008.
