Converteam SAS awarded an order from SOLAR TURBINES (San Diego, USA) for the improvement of the gas distribution network in France managed by TIGF (Total Infrastructure Gaz France)
Converteam SAS was awarded an order of almost €4m for the development of "Artère de Guyenne" located in the South West of France. This project includes the extension of Lussagnet station (approx. 100kms North of Pau) and the creation of Sauveterre new station (approx. 100kms North of Lussagnet) as well as the implementation of a 70-km pipeline. In each station Converteam will supply a set of Variable Speed Drive System (VSDS) to drive SOLAR compressors used to maintain the pressure in pipes. Each VSDS will consist of one ONAN transformer (63kV/4x3400V 24-pulse - 10MVA for Lussagnet and 8.8MVA for Sauveterre), one variable speed drive (MV7612 VSI 12MW water-cooled), one 6000V 1500rpm induction motor (8700kW for Lussagnet and 7516kW for Sauveterre), one water-to-air heat exchanger (170kW for Lussagnet and 150kW for Sauveterre), all protections for transformer, drive, motor and heat exchanger. Delivery is planned in June 2008 and the plant is expected to be operational in autumn 2008.

Norsk Hydro and Converteam sign a letter of intent for Ormen Lange project
In October, in the presence of Norsk Hydro’s Project Director, a letter of intent for Ormen Lange project was signed between Aker Kvaerner’s Project Director and Converteam SAS’s Vice President. This project, a world first in sub-sea gas compression, represents a major development opportunity in the field of sub-sea exploration at great depth.
