Our solutions

Our solutions are based on variable-speed systems for which we manufacture three main components: .  rotating machines (motors and generators) —    Converteam offers a full range of high-voltage    motors, synchronous up to 100MW and    asynchronous up to 40MW .  drives to control the speed of motors by varying    current voltage and frequency. Converteam drives    cover a full range from a few KW up to 100MW .  automation and process controls for applications    including plant automation, ship automation and    SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)    systems.

Technology centered on High Performance Controller (HPC) engineering tools and network systems has benefited from ongoing commitment to development, enabling Converteam to offer complete automation systems integrating the latest breakthroughs and standards at all levels – from process control to production and enterprise management.

   example in metals
.  optimization of energy consumption in step with mechanical requirements, in particular for

Our markets

Converteam is an uncontested leader on its core markets, with orders totalling over €1,426 million. In the Marine and Offshore sector, Converteam is number-one worldwide for electrical propulsion and on-board power generation systems and dynamic positioning systems used for cruise liners and merchant shipping, in particular oil tankers, offshore platforms and cable ships, semi-submersible platforms, etc. and naval applications. Converteam is the number-three supplier worldwide for process industries such as metals and the Oil and Gas sector, where we offer complete electrical solutions including high-speed drives, motors, compressors, pumps and more.

We also serve customers in specialized sectors such as renewables, onshore and offshore wind generation, power generation (electrical systems for large turbines, auxiliary plant systems), materials handling (in particular cranes) and test benches for the automotive sector.

Our equipment solutions are backed up with full services matching the needs of customers operating on both national and international markets. Through our Regional Business Centers they have ready access to advanced equipment expertise for maintenance, technical support and training.

Our people

Our business is by nature international, but also demands on-the-spot availability. To meet the challenge, our workforce of 4,600, is present in more than fourteen countries. And while Europe accounts for 85% of the total — mostly in France, Germany and the UK — a good 10% are on hand in North and South America, and the remaining 5% in China and India. Engineers and technicians making up 50% of the total are involved in both ongoing business operation and R&D, making quality their priority at all times.
