Engineering, design, manufacturing, supply, commissioning, and service of integrated electrical solutions including drive systems, control, and automation systems for the following sectors:
- Marine & Offshore, particularly electrical power and propulsion systems for major merchant, cruise, offshore, and naval vessels. Current major contracts with the U.S. Navy include fully integrated power and propulsion systems for the new Zumwalt Class Destroyers (DDG 1000) and the new Lewis & Clark Class Dry Cargo/Ammunition Ships (T-AKE). In the private sector, Converteam Inc. provides electrical systems on large ships of all types for various clients including Alaska Class Oil Tankers for British Petroleum (BP)
- Metals, including ferrous and non-ferrous operations. Domestically, Converteam Inc. served many major clients, providing power and automation systems for hot & cold mills, processing lines, etc. A notable project was the hot strip finishing mill upgrades for Beta Steel Corporation at their plant in Portage, Indiana, USA. International projects include an aluminum hot line finishing mill stand addition for Novelis Korea Limited at their main plant in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang, South Korea and a cold mill conversion project for Industrias Monterrey S.A. DE C.V., APM Division at their steel plant in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico
- Oil & Gas - Converteam Inc. has been increasing our presence in the North American Oil & Gas market. Recently, we have been selected to provide a 10,000 HP variable frequency drive and medium voltage induction motor for a turbo-compressor at Southern Natural Gas’s Cypress Pipeline Compressor Station #2 in Glynn County, Georgia, USA
