Barclays Private Equity (BPE) is a leading investment firm specialized in private equity, particular in the engineering sector, where interests include Fives-Lille in France, CEME Group in Italy and GGH in Germany. It manages assets of around €3 billion in Europe and operates through local branches in France, the UK, Italy and Germany. BPE France, the new shareholder for Converteam, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barclays Bank Plc and the manager of BPE funds, of which Barclays is the main sponsor.
