Commissioning and service of integrated electrical solutions including rotating machinery (motor and generators), drive systems and control and automation systems for the following sectors:

  • Naval Systems, Marine & Offshore: The Burlington office is a key contributor to NA’s Naval Systems, Marine & Offshore sector. Recently Canada upgraded the electrical systems to the Sir Wilfred Laurier, a Canadian Coast Guard Icebreaker.
  • Oil & Gas: Canada has been providing various Oil and Gas industry clients with an innovative solution to starting medium voltage compressor motors with our proprietary HTLC (High Torque Low Current) starter.
  • Mining: Canada is responsible for NA mining projects in conjunction with global Units NE, CEER and Brazil. Recently, Canada was awarded mining contracts in Peru, along with two major NA mine production hoist expansion projects in Ontario (SIFTO Salt) and Saskatchewan (Agrium Potash Operations) with consortium partner SIEMAG M-TEC2.
  • Renewable Energy/Hydro: Canada’s focus is on wind energy turbines and hydro generating projects. Hydroelectric synchronous generators (6 x 11.5kVA) manufactured at Rotating Machines Minneapolis have been installed at Hydro Quebec’s dam facility at Chute-Allard, north of Montreal.
  • Transport: Canada is responsible for transit propulsion projects in NA. The Burlington and Vancouver locations are serving existing transit systems in Vancouver, Toronto and Detroit. With consortium partner, Struckton, Canada installed modern propulsion equipment at O’hare Airport Transit Systems (OATS) and is pursuing major projects in Montreal, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
