Converteam to Equip "Carnival Dream" Second Sister Ship

Belfort, 30 March 2010 - Converteam has been awarded a contract by Fincantieri to equip “Carnival Dream” new sister ship with electric propulsion.
Carnival Cruise Lines’ new flagship, expected to be launched in 2012 will be identical to its peers “Carnival Dream” delivered in summer 2009 and “Carnival Magic” to be delivered in 2011. The three ships are the largest cruise ships ever built in Italy and by Fincantieri: 130,000 gross register tonnage, 306 meters in length, 2,558 cabins for 6,000 passengers and a maximum speed of
22.5 knots. Converteam’s electric propulsion includes two electric motors, 22,000kW each.
