LV8000 converter
Berlin, 4 April 2011 – Power conversion specialist Converteam has added the LV8000 to its portfolio of low-voltage converters. The new LV converter is designed for variable-speed drives in the particularly high power range from 300kVA to 8,000kVA. Variable-speed drives save much more energy than conventional fixed-speed versions and are hence very environmentally-friendly. The inverter is the key exhibit of Converteam's presentation at the Hanover Fair from 4 to 8 April, hall 27, booth H50.
The LV8000 is designed for input voltages of 400V to 900V and handles output pulse frequencies of up to 5kHz in the versions for 300kVA and up to 10kHz in the versions for 500kVA. Thanks to its modular design, the LV8000 can be customized to suit varying powers and dimensions. Its encapsulated design enables its use in very adverse industrial environments.
Made for industrial applications
The use of high-quality components designed for a particularly long service life, such as foil capacitors and IGBT semiconductors featuring a high thermal withstand capability, means that the inverter is the product of choice whenever high availability is required, as is the case with drives in rolling mills, wind energy installations, cranes, compressors or pumps in the oil and gas industry. Variants for regenerative braking or unidirectional operation with diode bridge and braking chopper are available as required for the given application.
A compact design and silent in operation
Converteam offers the LV8000 with air-cooling and water-cooling options. The water-cooled variant excels by a more compact design. The additional cost and space for room air conditioning can be greatly reduced. Both types operate at low noise levels and remain significantly below the noise emission limits specified by the EU.
Easy integration in every industrial infrastructure
The LV8000 comes with a future-enabled, Ethernet-based PECe controller and supports all major communication protocols and field bus systems. It can be easily integrated into the existing communication infrastructure of an installation and is particularly future-safe thanks to its upgrade capability. The use of Internet-enabled protocols permits remote control, for instance, from a remote control room. A touchpanel control option is also available.
