Converteam is celebrating a ground-breaking innovation in clean, efficient dual fuel powered electric propulsion. Its proprietary technology helped put to sea the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, British Emerald.
Converteam has just won a large contract at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. in Korea to supply electric power and propulsion systems on board three LNG carriers for Norwegian ship owner Knutsen OAS Shipping AS. These 173,400 m3 LNG carriers will be Knutsen’s first with electric propulsion. They will be fitted with Converteam’s innovative solution based on induction motors and PWM type MV7000 converters
Converteam was awarded a contract for the supply of a fully integrated Power, Propulsion, Automation and Dynamic Positioning system package for the world's first concrete hull heavy lifter to be built at Keppel Verolme's Shipyard in the Netherlands for Norwegian owner MPU Offshore Lift ASA
Converteam has been awarded a multi-million contract by Aker Yards to supply electric power and propulsion systems on two new cruise ships for Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)
