Converteam Wins Two Mining Contracts in Brazil

Belo Horizonte, 7 April 2010 – Converteam won two contracts with Sandvik, a Swedish engineering company specializing in Mining. The final customer is the second largest worldwide mining company.

The first project targets greater operational safety in the ore storage process for the bridge reclaimer of Fábrica Nova Mine, located in Mariana, Minas Gerais State. The second project aims at increasing the blending storage yard for the drum reclaimer in the Brucutu Mine, in Sao Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo, Minas Gerais State.

For both projects Converteam will supply the electrical and automation systems as well as engineering services, assembly supervision, commissioning and training. Work began in February for final delivery of the equipment in October this year. The end of commissioning is expected in August.
