Converteam has been supplying systems to naval vessels for over 80 years. From the last 25 years, we have over 100 naval references. Our naval systems are mainly based upon the systems developed for commercial applications but are often ruggedized to meet the special requirements for naval systems. Scope of supply

  • Power, propulsion and automation systems for warships, auxiliaries and government-owned ships.
  • Our scope of supply includes both Integrated Full Electric Propulsion systems (IFEP) and hybrid systems in which Integrated Electrical Propulsion (IEP) system is combined with a mechanical propulsion system.
  • We are one of the world's leading experts in power management systems which we can integrate with our navalized automation and platform management systems. We can include such features as damage control recording, stability calculation and onboard training systems.
  • System design can include detailed design and specification of propulsion and auxiliary systems, machinery space arrangement and installation design, finite element calculations of structural and mechanical systems, dynamic simulation of ships and propulsion plant behavior, total electrical systems modeling and characteristics evaluation.
  • For each application, system engineering can include technical specifications, calculations and analysis, operational assessments and requirements analysis, feasibility studies and evaluation of alternative propulsion concepts, availability, reliability and maintenance studies, conceptual design and specification of optimized propulsion systems, shock, noise and vibration studies, integration of the power and propulsion and distribution systems components with each other and other interfaces in the vessels.
